1. Spyshots - Hyundai ix25, Mahindra P601, and Ford Figo sedan

IAB's readers managed to photograph three highly awaited products, namely the Hyundai ix25 crossover, the Ford Figo-based compact sedan, and Mahindra P601 (codename) LCV.

Starting with the Hyundai ix25, which was caught on test in Chennai. The vehicle is likely to be launched during the festive period this year. Already on sale in China, it measures a tad above 4 meters in length, and is likely to be powered by the same engines available on the Verna. Expect an INR 8-10 lakh price tag.

The upcoming Ford Figo-based compact sedan was also spotted last week. It's based on a modified version of the same platform that underpinned the previous generation Fiesta. Alongside the compact sedan, Ford will also launch the new Figo hatchback, both of which will be made at Ford India's facility in Sanand, Gujarat. Engine options will include a 1.5-litre diesel while the petrol could be a 1-litre engine, although the company hasn't announced that yet. Production is expected to start before the end of the quarter.

The Mahindra P601 (codename) LCV was also sighted. The Tata Ace-rival will go on sale this year, and is likely to be offered in multiple wheelbase and payload choices. Previous spyshots have confirmed dumbbell shaped headlamps with integrated blinkers, a dashboard-mounted gear lever, and 145-section, 12-inch tyres.

2. Geneva bound Koenigsegg Agera RS announced

Koenigsegg has announced a new derivative of the Agera, called the Agera RS, which will be unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Likely to be slotted between the Agera R and the One:1 hypercar, it's expected to be more powerful than the former. Based on the existing Agera R, the Agera RS could include a better aerodynamics package, too.

3. Tata Kite hatchback rendering

IAB's in house artist Shoeb Kalania has created a computer-generated image of the upcoming Tata Kite (codename) hatchback. The car is based on a re-engineered version of the Indica platform, but is expected to host a lot of improvements on both the design and mechanical front.

Engine choices are likely to be a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.05-litre diesel engine that makes 64 hp and 142 Nm of torque. While a 5-speed gearbox is going to be standard, Tata Motors could go an extra step and fit an AMT in the car.

The platform will also spawn an Indigo eCS-replacing compact sedan, and both, the hatchback and sedan are reported to be manufactured at Tata's plant in Sanand, Gujarat. Launch of the hatchback is expected by mid-2015.

4. Suzuki Concepts

Ahead of the Geneva Motor Show next month, Suzuki has announced that two concepts will be unveiled at the said motor show. First up is the Suzuki iM-4 mini SUV concept, which could preview the EcoSport-rivaling YBA (codename) compact SUV.

Joining the mini SUV concept is the iK-2. The hatchback concept could be the YRA (codename) premium hatchback that's to be positioned above the Swift in Suzuki's (and Maruti's) line up. While the YBA is expected in the first quarter next year, the YRA could make it to the market in the second half this year.

5. Suzuki Hayabusa Z launched

Suzuki Motorcycles India has launched a special edition version of its motorcycle Hayabusa. Called Suzuki Hayabusa Z, the version is priced at INR 16.2 lakhs, and comes with a dual-tone paint scheme and a Yoshimura R-77J slip-on exhaust.

Apart from that, if you plan to invest in the said version, you would also get a 1:48 scale model of the motorcycle and a racing calender, too. The bike was first showcased at the Motorcycle Live Show in the UK last year.
