Internationally, the Hyundai Kona EV is available with two powertrain options. The base variant is powered by an electric motor that offers a maximum power of 136 PS and a peak torque of 395 Nm. It gets its juice from a 39.2 kWh battery that provides a driving range of 345 km*. The Kona EV sports a 7.2 kW onboard charger through which the battery pack can be charged entirely with AC in 6 hours and 10 minutes. A 100 kW fast charger can replenish the battery to 80% of the total capacity in roughly 54 minutes.

The more expensive version of the Hyundai Kona EV boasts an electric motor that delivers a maximum power of 204 PS and a peak torque of 395 Nm. It draws its power from a 64 kWh battery pack that provides a claimed driving range of 546 km*. Akin to the base model, this version features a 7.2 kW onboard charger through which the battery pack takes 9 hours 35 minutes to get completely replenished. Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) will bring the Kona EV via CKD packs. The company's first all-electric model will be assembled at the Chennai plant. The company has set a monthly sales target of 50 units.
