Hyundai Motor India Limited has received more than 23,500 pre-orders for the 2019 Hyundai Santro in just 13 days. The company had started taking pre-orders on the 10th of this month.

The 2019 Hyundai Santro's Asta and Sportz grades are in high demand.

Hyundai has limited the monthly production to 10,000 units. However, production started several weeks ago, and so, dealerships should have sufficient stock to meet the high demand at launch. Bookings can be made for an amount of INR 11,000 (for the first 50,000 customers).

Hyundai will sell the 2019 Santro in five equipment lines: D-Lite, Era, Magna, Sportz and Asta. The top-of-the-line Asta grade will come with features like full wheel covers, electrically adjustable ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink, rear AC vents, steering-mounted audio controls, rear parking camera and dual-front airbags. Driver airbag, ABS with EBD, driver and co-driver SBR and reverse parking sensors are standard safety features.

The 2019 Hyundai Santro is available in petrol and petrol-CNG models. Both share a 1.1-litre four-cylinder engine, albeit in individual tunings. In the petrol model, the maximum power and maximum torque are set at 69 PS and 99 Nm respectively. In the petrol-CNG model, the same engine delivers 59 PS and 94 Nm of torque. There are two transmission choices: 5-speed manual and 5-speed Smart Auto, but the latter is exclusive to the petrol model.

The 2019 Hyundai Santro is brand's first model with an AMT.
