IAB Report - Hyundai Santa Fe receives 559 bookings

In about 40 days from the time of its launch, the new Hyundai Santa Fe has attracted 559 bookings and 5,255 inquiries.

Hyundai has delivered about 150-160 cars in this period and a further 150 are awaiting deliveries this month, a Hyundai India spokesman told IndianAutosBlog.com today.

The Santa Fe 2WD variant (offered in AT and MT) has a waiting period of one month, while the 4WD (offered as an AT) has a two month waiting time, he added. Hyundai launched the Santa Fe at the Auto Expo on the 5th of February between 26.3 lakh to 29.25 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi price) putting it in the same basket as the Toyota Fortuner, Audi Q3 and the BMW X1. Like its peers, the SUV is assembled in India.

All variants of the new Santa Fe come with a four-cylinder, 2.2-liter diesel engine that produces 197 PS at 3,800 rpm and 42.9 kgm of torque in the manual variant and 44.5 kgm of torque on the automatic variant. The manual returns a fuel efficiency of 14.74 km/l, while the automatic does 13.01 km/l, in the ARAI mileage test.

Hyundai sells a long wheelbase Santa Fe in the US and in Europe that provides better comfort for the third row passengers as well as an expanded boot space. The Grand Santa Fe is not available to India as it is only made in LHD configuration.
