IAB reader photographs the Hyundai Tucson at a yard

Will come in three grades: G, GL and GLS.

One of IAB's readers has photographed the new Hyundai Tucson finished in Wine Red body colour at a dealership yard, ahead of its launch in India on November 14. The variant walk with some of the features have also been provided by the reader, giving an idea of the package customers can expect when it arrives in showrooms.

As per the reader's email, the Hyundai Tucson will be sold in three grades: G, GL and GLS. Some of the features in the top-end GLS include power-operated tailgate, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, hill descent control, electronic parking brake with auto hold, front parking sensors, and 18 inch Nexxen alloy wheels. Importantly, it comes equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 6-speaker sound system and six airbags.

The Tucson will be available in both petrol and diesel variants at launch. The petrol variant is powered by the Elantra's 2.0L four cylinder naturally aspirated engine with 152 PS, and the diesel variant packs a 2.0L CRDi four-cylinder diesel engine producing 184 PS. Both petrol and diesel variants of Tucson 'G' will come equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox, while GL and GLS feature a 6-speed torque converter automatic.

The Hyundai Tucson will be assembled at HMIL's factory in Chennai. It will slot between the Hyundai Creta and Hyundai Santa Fe, and prices are expected to hover between INR 16 lakhs and INR 20 lakhs (ex-showroom New Delhi).
