India-bound 2019 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport (facelift) officially unveiled

The India-bound 2019 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport has been officially unveiled in Thailand today. The facelift comes after almost four years since the current-gen model was first introduced back in 2015.

The facelift brings along quite a few changes inside-out to the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. The most noticeable of all is a sharper and more dynamic front-end which is highly similar to the facelifted Mitsubishi Triton. Mitsubishi's signature Dynamic Shield front-end design concept has been further evolved on the new Pajero Sport with the use of tweaked front grille, two-tier front light setup, new bumper and new skid plate. On the sides, there are new dual-tone, double-spoke alloy wheels. Coming on to the rear, it changes include new lighting graphics for the combination lamps, new bumper and new skid plates.

Along with the design refreshes, Mitsubishi has brought new convenience features to the Pajero Sport with the facelift. These include a power tailgate, 8-inch colour digital instrument cluster and Mitsubishi Remote Control that offers a number of functions include remote operation of the power tailgate. The company has also replaced the climate control unit with a new panel, revised the steering wheel, added new AC power outlet on the existing USB plug at the floor console's rear panel and changed the floor console trim.

The Indian-spec 2019 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport will be launched with a BS-VI 2.4 litre four-cylinder turbodiesel engine.

The 2019 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is powered by the 4N15 2.4-litre diesel engine that produces 181 PS at 3,500 rpm and 430 Nm of torque at 2,500 rpm. An 8-speed automatic transmission. The Super-Select 4WD-II system is optional. India is said to get the new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport as a CBU import from the Laem Chabang plant that is located in Thailand. In all, the plan is to sell this mid-size SUV in 90 countries around the globe.
