Like the model sold in Brazil, the Compass has an all black interior contrasted by silver trim and chrome accents. It features a touchscreen system, which appears to be smaller than the 8.4 inch UConnect system in the Brazil-spec Compass, although there's a possibility that the mule is not the top-end variant.

The 2017 Jeep Compass is 4,416 mm long, 1,819 mm wide, 1,645 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,636 mm. Jeep's entry-level product will slot in the premium monocoque SUV segment that comprises of the Honda CR-V, Hyundai Tucson and the upcoming VW Tiguan. It will be Jeep’s first locally manufactured product, localised at the FCA-Tata JV’s plant in Ranjangaon, so expect prices to start from under 30 Lakhs.

The engine lineup is rumoured to have a 1.4L Multiair turbocharged engine and a bigger 2.0L Multijet II turbodiesel 4-cyl unit. The diesel variant will come with either a 6-speed manual or 9-speed AT and could get Jeep’s Active Drive 4×4 system as an exclusive option.
