The championship-winning FTR 750 race bike inspires the FTR 1200 range. The FTR in the branding stands for 'Flat Track Race' bike, while 1200 represents the displacement. The flat track-inspired motorcycle gets all the street-legal components such as headlight, tail lamp, blinkers, rear-view mirrors and a front disc brake. The rear hugger-mounted number plate gives the tail section a cleaner, minimalistic look. The motorcycles can be further customised with over 40 optional accessories in four distinct collections.

Key features of the FTR 1200 S include Bosch stability control with a six-axis inertial sensor, selectable riding modes (Sport, Standard and Rain), cruise control, USB fast-charge port and a 4.3-inch colour touchscreen dash. Electronic rider aids include Lean Angle Sensitive (cornering) ABS, Traction Control, Wheelie Mitigation Control and ABS.

Mechanical specifications on the FTR duo include a 1203cc, V-twin cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 8-valves (4-valves per cylinder) engine that delivers 120 hp of peak power and 115.2 Nm of maximum torque. The motor is linked to an Assist & Slipper clutch-enabled six-speed gearbox. The motorcycle tips the weighing scale at 235 kg (kerb weight).

Braking department comprises dual 320 mm front discs with 4-piston callipers and a single 265 mm rear disc with a 2-piston calliper. Shock absorption tasks are performed by fully adjustable, 43 mm inverted telescopic cartridge front forks and a fully adjustable piggyback IFP rear monoshock.
