European sales start in early-2016.

Jaguar revealed its first crossover, the F-Pace, at the Frankfurt Motor Show earlier this month. Set to be manufactured at the firm's Solihull plant in England, the F-Pace will launch in the UK and neighboring European markets in early-2016.

The F-Pace is based on the aluminium-intensive iQ architecture.

Speaking to IndianAutosBlog at the Frankfurt show, Mr. Rohit Suri, President, Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd (JLRIL), said that the F-Pace is planned for the Indian market in the second half of next year. Prior to that, reports state that the Tata-owned luxury carmaker will introduce the XE sedan, which will rival the likes of the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4 and Mercedes C Class.

Mr. Suri said that the company was yet to decide on local assembly of the F-Pace. JLR India's Pune facility assembles the XF, XJ, Range Rover Evoque and the Land Rover Discovery Sport at the moment.

The F-Pace was announced with a 180 PS 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel, a 240 PS 2.0-liter petrol, a 300 PS 3.0-liter V6 diesel and a range-topping 3.0-liter V6 petrol in 340 PS and 380 PS tunes. The 2.0-liter diesel will get manual and automatic transmissions, whereas other engines are solely available with an automatic. Also, where the four-cylinder engines receive a standard rear-wheel drive, all-wheel drive is standard on the six-cylinder variants.
