Auto Express has a few renderings of the upcoming volume oriented Jaguar XE premium sedan up on their website. The latest renderings give us a fair idea about how the BMW 3-Series rival would look like from different angles.

The Jaguar XE will have an unmistakable family identity.

First look at the front three quarter angle, and you would know that you are looking at a baby XF. Jaguar designers ensured that the new sedan gets an unmistakable family look yet manages to have its own identity. The trademark grill, angry looking headlamps, and a long hood with power bulge are typical Jaguar traits. Individuality comes from detailing like the L-shaped LED daytime running strip.

In profile, the XE could get the fender vents a la the F-Type. Short overhangs, smoothly arching roof, big alloy wheels and gradually ascending waistline characterize the baby Jag. Like its sibings, most of the car's individuality seems to lie in the rear fascia that would have a unique taillight design. Integrated spoiler on the boot lid and twin exhaust pipes round off the rear. In short, the XE would decidedly be a Jaguar but with an appeal of its own.

The fascia of the XE will get a very unique taillight design.

Based on Jaguar's brand new iQ aluminium platform, the car is expected to be lighter and more agile than the 3 Series which is widely accepted as the driver's sedan. Power would come from a newly developed family of four-cylinder petrol and diesel motor called 'Ingenium'. The new powertrains are claimed to have impressively low CO2 emissions. The top end will inherit the F-Types V6 petrol engine.

The Jaguar XE is expected to make its global premiere at the 2014 Paris Motor Show in early October with international sales set to start in 2015.
