Report - Jaguar camouflages BMW 3 Series, Mercedes C Class and Audi A4 to promote the XE
Scheduled to debut on September 8th in London, the Jaguar XE executive sedan has already been teased quite a number of times. Jaguar is known to be provocative with its promotional and advertisement campaigns lately and has done it again for the XE sedan!
In what can be considered a cheeky promotional technique, Jaguar has camouflaged the XE's German rivals - Mercedes C Class, Audi A4 and BMW 3 Series. The camouflaged rivals display a prominent website address on their doors - Der-neue.com - which translate into "The-New".
It's only when the curious beholders log into the mentioned URL do they come to know that it's indeed a handy work of Jaguar. The website asks for the visitor's email ID by saying "Learn more about the new Jaguar on 29/07/2014". The mention of a date earlier to the official unveil suggests that Jaguar could unveil the car online before the first public appearance.
Based on a new lightweight aluminum structure, the Jaguar XE would be powered by the new Ingenium family of four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The first engine of the new family is a 2.0-litre diesel unit.
The sedan features double wishbone front suspension which is derived from the F-Type sportscar and a first-in-segment integral link rear suspension system. More details are expected in the days to come.
