IAB Report - India-bound Jaguar XE world premieres on September 8, new tech details revealed
Jaguar have announced that the world premiere of the Jaguar XE sedan will take place on September 8 in London. The company has also released more technical details about the XE.
The front suspension of the sedan is based on the F-Type sportscar and is partly made from forged and cast aluminium to save weight. The double wishbone unit is mounted to a subframe with cast aluminium suspension towers. At the rear, the XE will get an integral link suspension layout which is a first-in-segment feature.
The steering system of the XE will feature Jaguar's latest electric power assisted steering (EPAS) which claims to offer many active safety and driver aid systems apart from precise steering feel. The XE will also come with ASPC (All Surface Progress Control) which will give the car better grip in slippery conditions.
Other details we know about the XE are that it will be based on a new aluminium architecture and it will be powered by a new family of engines called Ingenium. The engines would weigh 80 kg less compared to rivals, Jaguar announced last week.
We understand that the XE would launch in India sometime next year.
