Hyderabad based Eimor Customs has restored a Jawa 250 to factory glory, complete with the dual-tone paint scheme and an engine rebuild.

Jawa 250 Restored Left Front Quarter
The Jawa 250 features a complete engine rebuild to offer smoother gearshifts and linear power delivery.

While Jawa Motorcycles made a comeback in India with the Jawa and Jawa Forty-Two bikes, the original 2-stroke motorcycles offered some incredible memories. This particular Jawa 250 is a Type 559 that was manufactured in 1964. It took Eimor Customs four months to complete the rebuild, and the custom bikemaker has strived hard to keep it original.

While the Jawa 250 was known for its excellent build quality, it suffered from a few niggles relating to engine, gear slips and electrical issues. Eimor Customs has reworked the motor for smoother gear shifts and used advanced electrical systems with a new battery. The seat is wrapped in original leather by Tarun Oblum from OBLUM Creations, who are known for their range of hand-made bespoke shoes.

The Jawa 250 features the original dual-tone maroon and chrome paint scheme. The attention to detail can be seen from the golden pinstripes on the fuel tank, fenders headlight dome and the side panels as well. The motorcycle features an engine sump guard protection plate, while chrome detailing can be seen on the wheels, engine crankcase and the twin exhausts.

Powering the Jawa 250 is a 249 cc, single-cylinder, 2-stroke engine that is capable of producing 14 bhp of maximum power at 4,750 rpm and 21 Nm of peak torque at 3,500 rpm. The motor is coupled to a 4-speed gearbox. Unlike modern-day motorcycles that run on 17-inch wheels, the Jawa 250 rides on 16-inch wire-spoke wheels, while braking is aided by drum brakes at both the ends.
