While we wait for Jawa Motorcycles to unveil its upcoming 300cc bike tomorrow in India, a pre-production test mule of the Jawa 300 Classic has been spied undergoing testing in Pune.

The design of the upcoming Jawa 300 Classic is heavily inspired by the iconic vintage Jawa bikes.

Jawa Motorcycles will commence bookings of its range of bikes from 15 November. The test mule seems to be of the Classic model, which was also spotted uncamouflaged during a promotional shoot. The company is likely to introduce up to four new motorcycles in India, which may include a Jawa Bobber and a Jawa Scrambler, apart from the Classic and a Cafe Racer.

Jawa Motorcycles has also released a teaser video, which gives us a glimpse into the bike’s exhaust note. The company has worked hard to imitate the exciting exhaust sound of the old 2-stroke Jawa bikes. However, the new engine produces a throaty and bassy exhaust note.

Powering the forthcoming Jawa 300 Classic motorcycle will be a 293 cc, single-cylinder engine that has been developed for a flat torque curve and a strong mid-range. The liquid-cooled, fuel injected motor is capable of pumping out 27 bhp of maximum power along with 28 Nm of peak torque, mated to a six-speed gearbox.

The Jawa 300 Classic will feature a retro headlight dome, circular fuel tank, a comfortable single-piece seat, and large angular fenders. The motorcycle will be available with a dual-tone maroon and chrome colour scheme; although, we can expect a black paint option as well. The bike features conventional halogen lighting all around. Expect the Jawa 300 Classic motorcycle to be priced around INR 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Jawa 300 Classic motorcycle will predominantly compete with the Royal Enfield Classic 350. Suspension hardware will include old-school telescopic forks at the front and inverted twin gas-charged shock absorber at the rear. The bike will drop anchors with the help of a front disc and a rear drum setup with standard single-channel ABS.
