Jawa Perak bobber - Top 5 things to know
Classic Legends unveiled the Jawa Perak bobber in India on November 15. The motorcycle has been priced in India at INR 1.89 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Here are the top 5 things to know about the Jawa Perak.
Design
The Jawa Perak is a factory-custom bobber from Jawa Motorcycles that features a round fuel tank and a circular headlight with a wide handlebar. However, the design highlight is the cantilever single-seat. The swing-arm is designed in such a way that it offers a hard-tail look to the chassis, despite having an under-seat mono-shock.
Platform
The Jawa Perak uses a slightly modified chassis that underpins the Jawa and the Jawa Forty-Two. While the double-cradle frame is identical on the Perak, the rear sub-frame is omitted entirely to accommodate the cantilever seat. The swingarm is redesigned to mount a mono-shock, which replaces the twin gas-cannister shock absorbers.
Engine
The Perak uses the same engine platform that powers the other two bikes. However, the motor is bored-out to displace 334cc. The liquid-cooled, fuel injected, single-cylinder engine makes a maximum power of 30 bhp and 31 Nm of peak torque, mated to a six-speed gearbox.
Features
The Jawa Perak features a semi-digital instrument cluster. Braking is aided by discs at both the ends with standard dual-channel ABS. While the front telescopic forks are retained from the Jawa Forty-Two, the rear shock absorbers are replaced by a mono-shock unit.
