Jeep recently held a preview event of the Jeep Compass Trailhawk for dealers and select potential customers in India. Here are the off-road-focused SUV's live images from the event, courtesy Thrust Zone.

The Trailhawk will mark the introduction of the Jeep Compass diesel automatic grade in India.

The Jeep Compass Trailhawk, thanks to off-road suspension, offers more ground clearance than the regular Jeep Compass. It is immediately recognisable with the distinctive styling it gets from features like, Ruby Red recovery hooks, black anti-glare hood decal, Neutral Grey accents, Trail Rated badges and 17-inch Mid-Gloss Black wheels with polished pockets. It has unique fascias with 30-degree approach angle, 24-inch breakover angle and a 34-degree departure angle.

The Jeep Compass Trailhawk is the top-of-the-line Jeep Compass globally. Jeep will offer it in India exclusively with the 2.0-litre Multijet II diesel engine that produces 173 PS and 350 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox.

One of the main aspects of the Trailhawk grade is its exclusive Jeep Active Drive Low 4x4 system, which has a 20:1 crawl ratio and low range. Another exclusive is the Selec-Terrain Traction Management System's additional Rock mode. Fitted with an a rear locking differential, the Jeep Compass Trailhawk can crawl over a rugged terrain in this drive mode. Its wheels are wrapped in 225/60 R17 off-road tyres.

The Jeep Compass Trailhawk could have a pricing of around INR 24 lakh (ex-showroom).
