Moscow Live - Jeep Renegade

The Jeep Renegade, the smallest member in the American SUV specialist's portfolio, has made its Russian premiere at the 2014 Moscow Motor Show (Moscow International Auto Salon 2014).

The Jeep Renegade is based on the Fiat 500L's platform.

Based on the Fiat 500L platform which will also be shared with the upcoming Fiat 500X crossover, the Jeep Renegade has its home base at Melfi, Italy. The baby Jeep was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March this year.

The boxy compact crossover offers four petrol and two diesel engine choices. Transmission options include two manual gearboxes, a dual clutch automatic and a 9-speed automatic transmission. The top end variant gets Trail Rated capability with the Jeep Active Drive Low 4x4 system (with 20:1 crawl ratio).

The Jeep Renegade would not be making it to India anytime soon while the Russian market could be welcoming the mini SUV sometime next year.
