Kawasaki KX450F & Kawasaki KLX450R launched in India
India Kawasaki Motors has launched two off-road motorcycles - the Kawasaki KX450F and the Kawasaki KLX450R in the country.
The Kawasaki KX450F comes at the price of INR 7,97,300, and the Kawasaki KLX450R costs INR 8,49,000, both ex-showroom, Delhi. The two motorcycles come via the CBU route and are not road legal. They are meant for off-road use only.
On the occasion of the launch, Managing Director, India Kawasaki Motors Yutaka Yamashita said:
The culture and passion for off road motorcycle need be developed in India. Right now it is a niche market and we are happy to contribute in this segment by introducing KX450F, which was awarded as world’s best motocrosser in 2016 by Cycle World.

Kawasaki claims the KX450F is the lightest machine in the class with a significant reduction in the weight to engine and chassis. The bike tips the scales at 108.8 kg, kerb. The motorcycle employs a 449cc four-stroke single cylinder engine with liquid cooling and fuel injection. The engine pairs with a 5-speed transmission.

Suspension components include 49 mm Showa inverted Separate Function front Fork Air - Triple Air Chamber (SFF-Air TAC) that is fully adjustable. The rear gets a fully adjustable Uni-Trak monoshock. For braking, the bike uses 270 mm front and 240 mm rear petal disc. The motorcycle comes with a 6.3-litre fuel tank, and a launch control mode as well. The ground clearance stands at 335 mm.
The Kawasaki KLX450R employs a 449cc single cylinder engine with liquid cooling and comes with a carburettor. It also comes with a 5-speed gearbox. The front suspension is a 48 mm upside-down AOS type fully adjustable telescopic fork. The rear features a Uni-Trak adjustable monoshock. For braking, it uses a 250 mm front and 240 mm rear petal disc. Salient features include LED tail light and an all-digital instrument cluster and electric start. The motorcycle gets an 8-litre fuel tank and 315 mm ground clearance. It weighs 126 kg, kerb.
