Indonesia - Kawasaki unveils single-cylinder Ninja 250 RR Mono, launch in March

Kawasaki has unveiled an all-new single-cylinder 250 cc version of the Ninja in Indonesia, calling it the Kawasaki Ninja RR 250 mono.

The Ninja 250 RR Mono will replace the Ninja 150 RR in Indonesia (discontinuation from mid-2015) and it will be launched by March this year. Power for the Ninja 250 RR Mono comes from a single-cylinder 249 cc engine that develops 27.6 hp at 9,700 rpm and a maximum torque of 22.6 Nm at 8,200 rpm. The 250 cc bike has a reported top speed of 153 kph.

Kawasaki has kept the costs low by making ABS optional on the bike which weighs 151 kg, 21 kg lighter than the regular Ninja 250. The 250 RR Mono also gets a six-speed gearbox and a 11 liter fuel tank. Stopping power comes from a single disc brake at the front and at the rear.

The bike gets inverted telescopic suspension at the front and a monoshock setup at the rear. There's also a fully digital instrument cluster up front that shows that the tachometer going all the way up to 12,000 rpm. The semi-naked bike gets a full faring at the front and split seats for the rider and the pillion.

The bike is available in four different colours - Kwaker Lime green, Passion Red, Pearl Stardust White and Pearl Shinning Yellow.
