India-made Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR price hiked by INR 88,000
India Kawasaki Motors has increased the prices of the locally assembled Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR in India by INR 88,000. The bike is now priced at INR 16.98 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
That said, prices of the base variant, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, stays unchanged at INR 12.80 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). We reported on 6 August about Kawasaki commencing deliveries for both the motorcycles in India. Earlier, the Ninja ZX-10R and the Ninja ZX-10RR were imported into the country via the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route, with prices starting from INR 18.80 lakh (ex-showroom India).
The local assembly of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR and the Ninja ZX-10R resulted in a price cut of INR 6 lakh, and the motorcycles selling-out within 15 days of launch. The 2018 Ninja ZX-10RR is offered only in the black paint scheme. The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR has a fuel tank capacity of 17 litres and a kerb weight of 206 kg.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR sources power from a 998 cc, liquid-cooled, inline four engine that is tuned to pump out 197 bhp of maximum power at 13,000 rpm along with 113.5 Nm of peak torque at 11,500 rpm. The engine is capable of producing 207 bhp of power with RAM air intake. It is mated to a 6-speed transmission with a standard slipper clutch. The bike covers the 0-100 kph sprint in 2.8 seconds before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 299 kph.
The Ninja ZX-10RR features forged 17-inch alloy wheels from Marchesini that wrap on 120-section front and 190-section rear tubeless tires. The motorcycle comes equipped with an extensive suite of electronic rider aids. It includes Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS), Kawasaki launch control (KLCM), multi-level power modes, Kawasaki Traction Control(S-KTRC), switchable ABS control (KIBS), cornering management (KCMF), and engine braking function (KEBC). An inertial measuring unit (IMU) controls the electronic rider aids.
The Kawasaki ZX-10RR rivals the Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade, Yamaha YZF-R1M, BMW S1000RR, Suzuki GSX1000R and the Ducati Panigale 1299. To evade homologation, the locally assembled Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR is available as a single-seat variant without saree guard and pillion footrests.

Anchorage comes from twin 330 mm discs up front with Brembo M50 monobloc 4-piston callipers and a single 220 mm rear disc with single-bore pin-slide, aluminium piston calliper. The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR features fully adjustable 43 mm inverted forks at the front with rebound and compression damping, while the rear gets a back-link, gas-charged mono-shock with rebound damping and spring preload adjustability.
