Kawasaki Z250SL to be launched in India by year end - Report
Will be the least expensive Kawasaki model in the country.
India Kawasaki Motor Pvt Ltd will be bringing the Kawasaki Z250SL sports bike in India during November or December, reports Autocar Professional.
The Z250SL will be the company’s first single-cylinder offering and will also be its most affordable product in the country. The website reports that competitive pricing will be possible because majority of its parts like handlebars, switch housings, wheels, radiator fans, clutch plates, head- and tail-lamps, front and rear suspensions, tyres and electrical switches among other parts will be sourced locally. The engine however, will be imported from Thailand.
The Z250SL is powered by a 249 cc, single cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that is expected to produce around 27 bhp. The bike will also be lighter than the Z250 by 20 kg due to the usage of high-tensile steel for the trellis frame. Kerb weight for the ABS model will be 150 kg while the non-ABS version will be 2 kg less.

The entry-level sports bike will likely cost around INR 2 lakh and will go head-to-head with other single-cylinder offerings like the KTM Duke 200 and Honda CBR250R. Kawasaki has not confirmed if the Z250SL will be launched in India, but said that it has no plans to discontinue the twin-cylinder Kawasaki Z250.
