Kawasaki Z900 RS deliveries commence

The deliveries of the retro-modern motorcycle, the Kawasaki Z900 RS have commenced in India. The brand delivered the first bike in the country at its Mangaluru dealership in Karnataka. The Kawasaki Z900 RS is a CBU product from the Japanese brand and costs INR 15.3 lakhs, ex-showroom.

The motorcycle is available in two colours: Candytone Brown and Candytone Orange. The design of the Z900RS is inspired from the Kawasaki Z1 of the 1970’s. The bike’s underpinnings are from the Z900, which a whopping INR 7.62 lakhs cheaper. However, it should be noted that the Z900 is a CKD product.

Power for the Kawasaki Z900RS comes from a 948 cc in-line four-cylinder engine. The DOHC mill makes 111 PS at 8,500 rpm and 98.5 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Pairing with the engine is a 6-speed transmission with assist and slipper clutch. KRTC (Kawasaki Traction Control) and ABS are standard. The bike rides on 41 mm inverted front fork with compression, rebound damping, and spring preload adjustability. The rear comes with a horizontal back-link, gas-charged monoshock with rebound damping and spring preload adjustability.

When it comes to braking, the bike uses dual front 300 mm discs with radial callipers and a single rear 250 mm disc. The fuel tank capacity stands at 17 litres, and the bike weighs 215 kg, kerb. Other rivalling modern classic bikes include Triumph Bonneville T100 and T120; and BMW R nineT.
