Spied - Kia's version of the Hyundai ix25 compact SUV spotted in China
A market launch is expected next year.
To take advantage of the growing demand for compact SUVs, Kia will launch its card next year, which according to reports, will be based on the Hyundai ix25 which recently went on sale in China.
The ix25 and the Kia SUV will share platforms, and engines. However, they have no design similarities. As seen in these spyshots, the Kia SUV has its distinct shape and is designed like a smaller version of the Sportage. No doubt, the front fascia of the car will receive the typical 'Tiger Nose' grille, whereas the ix25 carries a bit of the Storm Edge design like the Santa Fe at the front, and uses the Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 in other areas.
The interior of the Kia too is laid out differently compared to the ix25. But expect both cars to sport similar features like power adjustable front seats, climate control, rear AC vents, cruise control, steering integrated controls, ABS, EBD, TCS and ESP.
The ix25 went on sale in China with 1.6- and 2.0-liter petrol engines and the same units can be expected to power the Kia SUV.
