Based on Kia's C-segment platform.

Apart from the new Kia K5, the Korean car maker also showcased the Novo concept at the Seoul Motor Show 2015 today. The coupe-inspired fastback design hints at future styling and strategy, Kia says, although a direct production version is not expected in the near future.

The Novo concept was birthed at Kia's Namyang design center in Korea, and is based on a specially-adapted version of its C-segment platform. Featuring the traditional 'tiger-nose' grille, Kia has equipped the Novo with laser headlights and diamond-cut alloy wheels.

The suicide doors of the Novo concept open to a driver-focussed cabin which features a wide dashboard with aluminium and leather highlights. The instrument cluster features a 3D hologram display, and the driver benefits from a touch pad controller which doesn't require him to take his eyes off the road.

The controller is also equipped with a fingerprint sensor, and can setup the car to varying individual needs. Further, a wide touchscreen display in the center of the dashboard is accessible to occupants for infotainment needs.

Power for the Novo concept comes from the 1.6-liter T-GDI gasoline engine, paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission turning the front wheels. The tires feature adaptive concave profiling, which reduce rolling resistance and road noise, but increase grip levels.
