Kia Picanto White special edition launched in Britain
Kia has launched a new 'White Special Edition' of the Picanto in the UK, apart from introducing a new exterior color option called the Fuchsia Blush.
The Kia Picanto is a close relative of the Hyundai i10 and uses the same platform. In fact, regular Indian Autos Blog readers would know that a couple of Kia Picantos are roaming around in Chennai, both on very different missions.
Coming back to the Kia Picanto White special edition, as the name suggests, the car is painted White and available only in the 3 door configuration. The front grill gets red accents and the front bumper is new with large fog lamps. The air dam adopts a new shape, clearly distinguishing the White from the usual variants.
Standard features in the White special edition include new five spoke 15" alloy wheels, leather wrapped steering wheel, steering wheel mounted audio controls, ambient LED lighting, Start/Stop system, keyless entry, Bluetooth connectivity and automatic climate control.
The White edition replaces the high-end Halo and Equinox variants and is powered by a 1.2 litre petrol engine (Kappa) that puts out 84 bhp. The engine is either coupled to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission (powertrains same as the i10).
The new 'Fuchsia Blush' pink which the company itself describes as a "girly color" is available on the five door model and can be had for an extra £445 (around Rs. 37,100).
The Kia Picanto White edition retails at £11,745 (around Rs. 9.78 lakhs) for the manual version and £12,345 (around Rs. 10.28 lakhs) for the automatic version.
