Kia Proceed Concept showcased at IAA 2017 - Live

Kia Motors has displayed its latest concept creation, the Kia Proceed Concept at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The Kia Proceed Concept was designed at Kia’s European design centre in Frankfurt. Kia says the concept is a glimpse of how the next generation, performance-oriented pro_cee’d would look like. The concept represents a new body type for Kia. The extended hot hatch retains the athleticism of the current pro_cee’d while giving a hint of real-world versatility. The car’s rakish roofline and muscular proportions hint more toward a fastback design.

The window frame follows the roofline, all the way to the tailgate which gets stacked air-vents at the bottom, and a rear full-width light strip. The C-pillar features ‘Sharkblade’ design with GT logo; and the B-pillar is eliminated. Lateral strakes add to the masculine feel at the rear. The car runs on six-spoke 20-inch aluminium alloy wheels. The front ‘Tiger nose’ grille and ‘island’ bonnet have been inspired by the Stinger.

The concept features a ‘Luminline’ - an illuminated outline of the car’s glasshouse that greets drivers as they approach the car. The car features bespoke ‘Lava Red’ colour, created by combining multiple hand-applied layers of black, chrome-effect silver, and red-tinted lacquer.
