Kia Seltos garners over 3,000 pre-orders in just 8 days in South Korea
Before India, the Kia Seltos is headed to South Korea where it is priced at KRW 19,300,000 (INR 11,55,146.39) onwards. It has garnered over 3,000 pre-bookings in just 8 days in the brand's home market.
The Korean-spec Kia Seltos isn't much different from the Indian-spec SUV. It is differentiated only by additional special black treatment on the side body. Other design elements such as the front signature tiger-nose grille, LED headlamps with 3D multilayer direction indicators, Ice cube LED fog lamps, LED rear lights and skid plates are identical.
On the inside, too, the Korean-spec model has the same design. It gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with UVO Connect connectivity suite, Head-up display, 360-degree surround-view camera, heated and ventilated seats, wireless phone charging and 8-speaker Bose sound system. Three interior colour options are there, namely black, plum and brown. In terms of dimensions, the premium B-SUV is 4,375 mm long, 1,800 mm in wide, 1,615 mm tall (1,600 mm without roof rails) and has a wheelbase of 2,630 mm.
Two engine options are available. The first is a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine which generates 177 PS of maximum power and 27.0 kg.m (264.7 Nm) of peak torque, while the second option is a 1.6-litre diesel engine which pushes out 136 PS of maximum power and 32.6 kg.m (319.70 Nm) of peak torque. The transmission duties are done by a 7-speed DCT. A 4WD system option is available in South Korea, but it won't be offered in India.

In India, the pre-bookings of the Kia Seltos will commence on 15 July, while the launch will take place in August. The competition will include premium B-SUVs like the Hyundai Creta and the Nissan Kicks as well as C-SUVs like the Tata Harrier and MG Hector.
