Kia SP2i spied on test, shows its alloy wheel design
Update: A Kia SP2i prototype was spotted undergoing road testing in Delhi. A spy shot captured during this sighting gives a look at its sleek tail lamps that are tapered inwards.

Last month, it was reported that the Kia SP2i will ride on 18-inch alloy wheels shod with 205/65-spec rubber. Now, a fresh batch of spy shots from TeamBHP has revealed the dual-tone machined alloy wheels of the new model.
The spy media has hinted at a high similarity between the aesthetics of the Kia SP2i and the SP Concept that debuted at the Auto Expo 2018. That said, the production version features a larger DLO and such other typical changes that are seen when a concept evolves into a road-ready vehicle.
The interior of the Kia SP2i will come packed with a host of premium features, which will include a 360-degree camera, head-up display, ambient lighting, WiFi and wireless charging. The powertrain options for the new model will comprise BSVI-compliant motors that will include 1.5-litre petrol and diesel units. Even a performance variant with a 1.4-litre T-GDI turbocharged direct injection petrol engine is said to be in the pipeline, but it would go on sale a later stage.
Underpinning the Kia SP2i is an updated version of the current-gen Hyundai Creta's platform. While the new model will cater to the specific demands and aspirations of the Indian audience, it will be sold even in many global markets, where it would be positioned above the Kia Stonic. The repurposed platform will also underpin the next-gen Creta. It will be even capable of supporting a seven-seater model. Hence, the company could introduce a three-row version in the Indian market in case the demand persists.

Prices of the Kia SP2i are expected to be kept in the INR 10-16 lakh (ex-showroom) range. The new model will be pitted against the likes of Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks, Mahindra XUV500 and Tata Harrier. It will go on sale in the second half of this year.
