Kia Stonic showcased at IAA 2017 - Live

Kia has showcased the all-new Kia Stonic, its first compact crossover, at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.

Unveiled in July this year, the Stonic features signature design elements like the Tiger-Nose grille and a Targa-style two-tone roof. The sides feature flared wheel arches with plastic cladding for a macho look.

Coming to the interior, the Stonic features a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The Kia Connected Services powered by TomTom gives the driver access to live traffic information. Other features include heated front seats, cruise control and keyless entry.

On the safety front, the Stonic gets a driver and passenger airbag; rollover detection curtain airbag; rear-view monitor with parking guidance; driver attention warning; lane departure warning; preceding vehicle and pedestrian collision warning; and Blind Spot Detection with Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

Powering the Kia Stonic is a 1.0 T-GDI Engine that is good for 120 PS of power. For Europe, the Stonic will also be available in 1.25 L and 1.4 L naturally aspirated petrol engines as well as a 1.6 L CRDi diesel engine. All engines come with a manual transmission. In the Korean market, the Stonic's U2 1.6-litre E-VGT diesel engine produces 110 PS and 300.08 Nm of torque. The drivetrain is an FWD unit paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission as standard.

The car comes with Kia’s 7-year/ 1,50,000 km warranty which is also transferable. There’s a seven-year free map updates and TomTom Live Service updates as part of the purchase. Prices of the Kia Stonic will start at around £15,000 in the UK.
