Skoda has launched the Octavia Onyx in the facelifted avatar in India. The company has priced the new Octavia Onyx from at INR 19.99 lakh* and offers it in three paint options - Candy White, Race Blue (new) and Corrida Red (new).
In terms of styling, the new Skoda Octavia Onyx distinctive all-black design elements. The front-end of the new Skoda Octavia Onyx doesn't flaunt any special element. Compared to the standard new Skoda Octavia, it's different on the sides and at the rear. 16-inch Premia Black Gloss alloy wheels, black ORVMs and black decorative door foils are the distinguishing features on the sides. At the rear, there's a black spoiler and a black decorative door foil.
There are some changes on the inside too. Firstly, the cabin is entirely in black. On top of that, 'SuperSport' flat-bottom steering wheel with perforated leather cover and stainless steel door sill covers provide more exclusivity. Apart from these exterior and interior differences, all the features are the same as those of the Style grade.
In terms of comfort and convenience features, the new Skoda Octavia Onyx comes loaded with an 8-inch touchscreen central infotainment system (with MirrorLink, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto support), dual-zone Climatronic air conditioning system, with clean air function, features electronic regulation and much more. Its safety kit includes features such as six airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), ESC (Electronic Stability Control), EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution), MBA (Mechanical Brake Assist), MKB (Multi Collision Brake), HBA (Hydraulic Brake Assist), ASR (Anti Slip Regulation), and EDL (Electronic Differential Lock).

The new Skoda Octavia Onyx has no mechanical differences from the standard new Skoda Octavia. It's available with both the engine options as the regular car: 1.8L TSI petrol (180 PS/250 Nm) and 2.0L TDI diesel (143 PS/320 Nm). However, there's no 6-speed MT option. The 1.8L TSI and 2.0L TDI turbocharged engines come linked to a 7-speed DCT and a 6-speed DCT respectively. The fuel economy delivered by these engines when paired with these transmissions is 15.1 km/l and 19.5 km/l respectively.
