KTM 250 Adventure under development - Report
Apart from the 390 Adventure, KTM is reportedly working on a quarter-litre adventure tourer, reports Autocar India. The source report suggests that the KTM 250 Adventure will miss some features for a lower pricing.

The feature list, similar to that of the 250 Duke, will include an LCD screen with an orange backlight. The quarter-litre model will most likely miss the LED headlight too and instead uses a halogen unit. The 390 Adventure, on the other hand, will pack a Bluetooth-enabled TFT display and a LED headlight. KTM may also source budget tyres from MRF or Continental to keep the costs low.
Engine specifications will most likely be identical to the 250 Duke, although the Adventure-spec model may get a revised gear-ratio. The 248.8 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor of the 250 Duke makes 30 hp of peak power and 24 Nm of max torque. The mill is linked to a six-speed transmission with a slipper clutch.
Hardware specifications of the adventure model, similar to those of the 250 Duke, will include 43mm upside-down telescopic front forks and an adjustable rear monoshock. However, the 250 Adventure may receive longer suspension travel and better ground clearance. Anchoring department will use a 300 mm single disc at the front with four-piston radial fixed calliper and a 230 mm single disc at the back with a single-piston floating calliper. The safety net will be handled by dual-channel ABS and, unlike on the 250 Duke, there could be a supermoto mode (disengages rear ABS).
The styling cues on both, 250 Adventure and 390 Adventure, will be almost similar. Thus, you will see a tall windscreen and deflectors at the front, a slim fuel tank, split seats and an engine bash plate. The accessory list will most likely be similar for the 250 and the 390 Adventure. The 250 Adventure will run on 19-inch front/17-inch rear wheel combination.
The 250 Duke ABS retails at INR 1,96,672*. The Adventure version, if launched, will retail in the INR 2-2.3 lakh* price range.
The 390 Adventure should debut at the 2019 EICMA motorcycle show. It will be interesting to see if KTM also brings an even lower displacement adventure model (125 Adventure) for the European markets.
