KTM India upgraded its complete range to comply with the upcoming safety norms. The last motorcycle to receive the upgrade was the 250 Duke that was launched with a dual-channel ABS. The ABS-equipped model carries a premium of INR 14,000 over the non-ABS model and can be purchased for INR 1.94 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The upgrade list remains limited to the addition of ABS and the 250 Duke continues to feature a halogen headlight, LED tail light, LED blinkers, fully digital instrument console, aluminium swingarm, steel-trellis chassis with a bolted sub-frame and split seat. The colour options include the existing orange and white choices.

Hardware specifications feature WP sourced 43mm upside-down telescopic forks at the front and an adjustable monoshock at the rear.

Propelling tasks are performed by 248.8 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that delivers 30 hp and 24 Nm of peak torque performs the propelling duties. The motor is paired with a six-speed transmission that features a slipper clutch.

Anchoring tasks are performed by a 300 mm single disc with four-piston radially mounted calliper at the front and 230 mm single disc with a single-piston floating calliper at the rear. The ABS on the 250 Duke is switchable although the rider cannot disengage the safety system just as the back – a feature that is available on the 390 Duke via the Supermoto mode.

The 250 Duke fills the gap between the 200 Duke and 390 Duke in KTM’s India portfolio. It features 390 Duke inspired styling although the equipment list does not match the bigger motorcycle and the 250 Duke features an orange backlit instrument console and a halogen headlight.
