KTM 390 Adventure confirmed for India
The KTM 390 Adventure was confirmed for production for the global market last year.
With the new KTM RC390 and RC200 launched, and the 2017 KTM Duke 390 to follow, another product which the Indian market has been waiting for long is the adventure tourer version of the KTM 390. Rajiv Bajaj at a recent press conference confirmed the KTM 390 Adventure for India.
Just like the rest of the of the smaller KTMs, even the KTM 390 Adventure will be manufactured in India at Bajaj’s Chakan facility in Pune. At the heart of the motorcycle will be the same 373.2 cc single cylinder mill which is capable of producing 43.5 PS of maximum power in the naked roadster.
The KTM 390 Adventure though can be expected to be set in a slightly different tune to accommodate the need of an adventure tourer. A test unit of the motorcycle has been spied earlier revealing bigger spoked wheels and petal discs borrowed from the Enduro range. The upswept exhaust has an apparent resemblance to the one seen in the 2017 KTM Duke 390.

The test unit also sported knobby, all-terrain tyres which signify that the KTM 390 Adventure will not be just a soft roader. The front suspension will have a longer travel which will help the bike take on rough terrain comfortably, and that undoubtedly will lead to an increase of seat height.
While there was no official confirmation about a launch date, the KTM 390 Adventure is expected to be showcased this year, perhaps at the EICMA 2017.
