Rendering - KTM 390 Adventure to get go anywhere capability

The new tourer could be made in India alongside its siblings.

The KTM 390 Adventure tourer will be the third derivative of the Duke platform which has spawned the Duke 390 street fighter and the RC390 fully faired track-focused sportsbike.

Media reports suggest that the tourer is getting ready for its launch next year and here is a speculative rendering of the motorcycle by a user of Rideasia.net

The 390 Adventure will get a longer suspension and all-terrain tyres.

While the rendering portrays a bike which looks like a crossover of a tourer and enduro body styles, the production version is likely to be slightly longer with a more comfortable seat.

The 390 Adventure will use the same 373.2 cc single-cylinder liquid cooled engine that also powers the Duke 390 and RC390. In its existing tune, the fuel injected motor produces a commendable 42.9 bhp and 35 Nm of torque. Like its stablemates, a 6-speed gearbox would transfer the power.

The tourer will get an upgraded suspension system with longer travel, all-terrain tyres and provisions to carry luggage. The frame could be re-engineered to better suit the tourer body style.

Given that Bajaj's Chakan plant in Pune is the only manufacturing site for the Duke family of motorcycles, there is a rich chance for the upcoming adventure variant to be made at the same facility for global consumption.
