KMT 125 Duke Overview

KMT 125 Duke was launched in 2018 as the low-end offering of KMT in the Indian market. Prior to its launch, it was the KTM 200 Duke that was positioned as entry-level bike of the KMT. The smaller two-wheeler also resembles its bigger siblings in many ways. For example, KMT 125 Duke gets similar features, mechanical parts and even the same liquid-cooled engine.

KMT 125 Duke Latest Updates

2022 KMT 125 Duke was recently caught on camera during testing abroad. The upcoming version is likely to get a new subframe and restyled swingarm. Overall, the new Duke will get notable updates that make it look even sharper and meaner. The new model is expected to be unveiled in early 2022, and the official launch will happen sometime around mid-2022.

As mentioned above, KMT 125 Duke is heavily influenced by its predecessor - KMT 200 Duke. It features a similar design language with halogen headlights, LED taillights, and LED indicator. From the rear end, the bike gets a large rim and an underbelly exhaust with blacked-out tips. To complete the sharp and serious look, the engine cowl now gets a black finish instead of the orange, white and, black scheme on the previous version. In addition, the bike is offered in two dual-tone versions, Electronic Orange and Ceramic White.

KMT 125 Duke Features

As far as the features are concerned, KMT 125 Duke is well-equipped with a host of technologies and features. It comes with a full-LED instrument cluster that shows details regarding the gear position, speed, fuel level, clock, distance-to-empty, range, tachometer readings and more. There are also LED applique on the taillights and indicators. In terms of safety, the KMT 125 Duke is available with single-channel ABS.

KMT 125 Duke Engine

KMT 125 Dukke is powered by a BSVI-compliant 124.7cc fuel-injected liquid-cooled engine that makes 14.95 PS at 9,250 rpm and 12 Nm at 8000 rpm. The tank capacity is 13.5-litre. It should be noted that the engine is able to reserve its power output regardless of the BSVI updates. This engine is coupled with a 6-speed transmission. Being an affordable entry-level bike, the 125 Duke does not get the slipper clutch.

About the structure and suspension, the KMT 125 Duke is developed on a trellis frame. The outgoing version gets the same 43 mm WP upside-down front fork and WP rear monoshock just like the pre-BSVI version. The stopping duties are done by a 300 mm front disc with a radially-mounted calliper and a 230 mm rear disc. It also comes with single-handle ABS upfront. The existing version is updated with a triple rate spring and double rate unit on the front and rear, respectively.

KMT 125 Duke Price

KMT 125 Duke is currently priced at Rs 1,60,319 (ex-showroom). 125 Duke is available in one single variant. It should be noted that KMT has recently given a quite significant price hike of Rs 8,812 for the 125 Duke. Earlier, the 125 Duke only cost Rs 1,50,507. Along with the KMT 125 Duke, other bikes on the range like 200 Duke, 250 Duke and 390 Duke also received price increments but smaller.

In India, KMT 125 Duke competes against the Yahama MT-15, Yahama YZF R15 V3, Bajaj Pulsar Rs 200. All of these two-wheelers are priced quite similar.
