Limited edition KTM RC 390 R introduced
KTM has launched a limited edition high-performance variant of the RC 390, called the KTM RC 390 R. The bike also comes with an optional SSP300 Race Kit.
The KTM RC 390 R is a homologated machine limited to only 500 units overall. KTM says the bike is ready for Supersport 300 competition and in fact the bike draws inspiration from that racing category. The brand has armed the bike with a series of upgrades for extreme track use. For starters, the bike gets fully adjustable WP upside down front fork and rear monoshock which provide huge levels of adjustment to suit the rider and the racetrack.

There is a new top yoke and handlebar kit which allow a more extreme racing handlebar position and adjustable for riders of all sizes. It is precisely machined for strength and weight saving. The levers are CNC milled and foldable to provide increased feedback at fingers and they are designed to flick-up in the case of a spill.
The engine gets a shorter intake trumpet to increase the overall efficiency in race conditions. It also results in a slightly wider power band. The fairing features slightly different graphics. The motorcycle is available to order through official KTM dealers in Europe and in overseas markets. This race machine costs EUR 8,500 (Approximately INR 6.71 lakhs), inclusive of German VAT.

The SSP300 race kit comprises everything which is needed for competition. This includes a full titanium Akrapovic SSP300 EVO02 exhaust system with race ECU, STM slipper clutch, Quickshifter, wiring harness, spare wheels, a huge selection of gearing options, increased cooling system and a full bodywork kit made from strong, lightweight materials, among many other detailed parts.
The kit is limited to just 50 units per year, and one can order directly through KTM Customer Racing. KTM has made the kit specifically for the new R model. It is not compatible with the KTM RC 390 CUP motorcycles or any RC specification before 2017. The price of this kit stands at EUR 11,000 (MSRP), including German VAT. This translates to a whopping INR 8.68 lakh, which is approximately equivalent to more than the price of three standard KTM RC 390 bikes in India.
