It is not a secret that the KTM RC 200 is about to get major updates soon. In fact, the new RC 200 new model 2021 has been spotted during testing a few times by far. As per the spy shots, the 2021 RC 200 will get upgraded ergonomics, revised design and new features.
Along with upcoming updates, the price of the KTM RC 200 new model 2021 is expected to experience small price increments soon. Moreover, just earlier this year, KTM has already given the RC 200 along with other bikes on their fleets a price hike of Rs 3,021. Previously, the KTM RC 200 was on sale at the price of Rs 2.01 lakh. It is now available at Rs 2.04 lakh.
While most supersport motorcycles in the market accentuate the curvy and sleek design, the KTM RC 200 took a different approach with very sharp and straight lines across the body. Along with funky pattern graphics, edgy underbelly exhaust system and upswept tail section, the RC 200 really stands out. This single-variant supersport comes with two choices of colour including the old black version and the newly-added black-orange scheme.

The existing version of the KTM RC 200 comes with twin-projector headlights, LED taillights, LED indicators, LED DRLs. There is also a full-digital LCD instrument cluster that displays details regarding the fuel efficiency, speed, gear position, shift light and more.
2021 KTM RC 200 is powered by a 199.5cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that puts out 25 PS and 19.2 Nm. This unit has previously given some tweaks to meet the new emission norms. Fortunately, these updates don’t affect the power output of the engine. It comes with a 6-speed gearbox. However, it misses out on the slipper clutch which is offered on the bigger KTM RC 390. Regardless, this refined unit delivers a smooth and impressive performance. The handling ability of the RC 200 is also something worth mentioning.
The suspension setting of the KTM RC 200 includes an upside-down fork and preload-adjustable mono-shock for the rear. In terms of safety, disc brakes are applied on both front and rear ends. There is also dual-channel ABS on the RC 200. Unlike its streetfighter sibling, the 200 Duke, the RC 200 doesn’t get a subframe.
In the same category, the Pulsar RS 200 could be considered a rival to the KTM RC 200. However, considering the pricing, the KTM RX 200 is priced more closely to the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250, TVS Apache RR 310 and Royal Enfield Himalayan.
The new KTM RC 200 is expected to get some significant updates in terms of design and features. It will get a fresh new face, a bolted-on subframe, some small revisions that will make the motorcycle appear sharper and bolder. However, all in all, it still looks essentially like the existing design which we are familiar with for years. The production of the upcoming KTM RC 200 will take place at the Chakan facility.
