Spied - KTM RC390 emerges yet again in new photographs
The KTM RC390 was spotted testing in Pune, Maharashtra, by Team BHP member 'PrasadWad'. The fully-faired version of the Duke 390 is expected to launch in India this year.
Speaking to Indian Autos Blog at a recent KTM track day event, Gaurav Rathore, Head of sales of KTM India, confirmed that the launch of the RC390 will take place in the early half of the next financial year (India's financial year begins on the 1st of April).
The RC390 was unveiled in November last year at the International Motorcycle Exhibition (EICMA) in Milan, Italy. Power for the faired sportsbike comes from the same 375 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine found in its naked sibling. This engine produces a maximum power of 43 hp and a peak torque of 35 Nm and uses a 6-speed gearbox to put the output on to the road.
Braking is handled by a 300 mm disc with a four-pot caliper at the front and a 230 mm disc with a one-pot caliper at the rear. While the Duke 390 weighs 139 kg, the RC390 is a further 8 kg heavier thanks to its fairing (weight mentioned here is without fuel).
KTM will launch the RC390 and RC200 in India. Both bikes are expected to be priced about 15-20 percent more than their corresponding naked versions.
