Will compete with the Hyundai Solaris (Verna) and VW Polo sedan (Vento).

The 2015 Lada Vesta sedan has been snapped in its production avatar on the factory floor.

The Vesta is based on the Lada B-Platform and is powered by a 1.6-liter engine.

The Renault-Nissan company had unveiled the Lada Vesta concept in August last year at the Moscow International Motor Show, and officials had said that series production would begin in September 25, 2015. Now, pilot production of the vehicle has commenced at the Izhevsk plant, which will yield 49 units, mainly for on-road testing. The company will invest 5 billion rubles (INR 469.16 crore) on a new production line to manufacture the car.

There aren't too many external changes from concept, and the car is a big step forward from current Lada models like the Granta and the Kalina.

Series production the Vesta will launch on September 25, 2015.

The car, according to Russian reports, gets a 1.6-liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that will be offered with 87, 106 and 114 bhp outputs. Depending on variant, manual and automatic transmissions will be offered. The company has already announced that the car's starting price will be 400,000 rubles (INR 3.75 lakhs).
