Within a week of its public debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, the Lamborghini Huracan has arrived in India for exclusive customer previews. The market launch will take place later this year, with prices starting at INR 3.43 crores, ex-Showroom, New Delhi.
The Huracan is the successor to the popular Gallardo, which sold in excess of 14,000 units in its 10 year lifespan making it Lamborghini's most successful model till date. Global customer previews of the Huracan commenced early this year, and the company's CEO and president, Stephan Winklemann, told the media that for it, over 1,000 bookings were received in two months.
The Huracan is based on an all-new lightweight platform mixing carbon fiber and aluminium. The supercar weighs a mere 1,422 kg as a result. The engine though, is carried over from the Gallardo but develops higher power and torque thanks to significant retuning. The 5.2-liter V10 now gets direct and in-direct injection, and produces 610 hp at 8,250 rpm and 560 Nm of torque.
0-100 km/h is dispatched in 3.2 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 9.9 seconds and the top-speed is rated at 325 km/h. The Huracan has its fuel economy rated at 8 km/l with CO2 emissions at 290 g/km (EU tests) and features stop-start technology as standard.
