Lamborghini Urus India launch in January 2018 - Report
Lamborghini unveiled the production Lamborghini Urus this month and won’t take it long to bring it to India. According to a report from Autocar India, the company will launch the Lamborghini Urus in India on January 11, 2018.
The Lamborghini Urus is majorly designed around its concept version that arrived in 2012. It is the second Lamborghini SUV to enter production. The first one being the Lamborghini LM002 that entered production in 1986. Lamborghini has built the “world’s first Super SUV” on Volkswagen Group’s MLB-Evo platform.
The Lamborghini Urus measures 5,112 mm in length, 2,016 mm in width and 1,638 mm in height. It has a 3,003 mm wheelbase. Its ground clearance is adjustable via an air suspension and it varies from 158 mm to 248 mm. Under the hood, is a 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 petrol engine that puts out 650 PS at 6,000 rpm and 850 Nm of torque from 2,250-4,500 rpm.
The Lamborghini Urus features an 8-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel drive system as standard. It has a Torsen central self-locking differential for high control and agility in all driving conditions, particularly off-road. Active torque vectoring via a rear differential allows for power distribution to individual wheels. The rear-wheel steering introduced in the Aventador S is present in the Urus as well.
The Lamborghini Urus can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and from 0-200 km/h in 12.8 seconds. It has a top speed of 305 km/h. Carbon ceramic disc brakes (front: 440 mm x 40 mm, rear: 370 mm x 30 mm) provide the stopping power. There are six driving modes to choose from: Strada, Sport, Corsa, Neve (snow), Terra (off-road) and Sabbia (sand). In addition, there’s a customisable EGO mode too.

Equipment highlights of the Urus include LED headlights with the signature Y motif, 23-inch wheels, Y-motif LED tail lights, rear diffuser with integrated double round exhaust pipes, head-up display, fully digital instrument cluster, dual central display setup with one screen for the infotainment system and one for the comfort functions, 18-way electric front seats with ventilation and massage functions, two-seat rear layout and a 1,700-watt, 21-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system.
The Lamborghini Urus will have a starting price of under INR 3 crore (ex-showroom), as per the report.
