List of 29 Cars, SUVs launching in India in the next 4 months

Based on reports and confirmations from manufacturers, here is a list of cars that are expected to launch in India before the end of this calendar year.

1. 2016 Audi A4

The next gen Audi A4 sedan is expected to arrive in showrooms in September. However, it will launch in the 30 TFSI petrol variant, before the 35 TDI diesel variant arrives later in the financial year.

2. Fiat Avventura Urban Cross

Basically a slightly restyled version of the Fiat Avventura without the tailgate-mounted spare wheel, the Avventura Urban Cross will launch in the festive season.

3. New Chevrolet Beat

It's unclear if Chevrolet will launch the rugged Beat Activ or the regular next-gen Beat hatchback first. However, at least one of these products is expected this calendar year.

4. 2016 Honda Accord Hybrid

Honda will relaunch the Accord in India later this year. In its ninth generation (post facelift), the Accord in India will be sold in the Hybrid variant.

5. 2016 Honda Brio

Following the introduction of the facelifted Honda Amaze, it was about time Honda introduced the same changes to its hatchback sibling, the Honda Brio. Already available in Indonesia, the facelifted Brio could launch in India later this year. It's unclear if the 'RS' variant will make the cut, however.

6. 2016 Hyundai Elantra

Spotted testing on Indian roads multiple times, the next gen Hyundai Elantra will launch in India in September. It will be available with 1.6 CRDi and 2.0 MPI diesel and petrol engines with manual and automatic transmissions.

7. 2016 Hyundai Tucson

Further bolstering Hyundai's premium lineup will be the latest Hyundai Tucson, marking the re-entry of the nameplate in India. According to reports, Hyundai has pushed back the launch of the Tucson to the end of this year, so as to let the new Hyundai Elantra establish itself in the market.

8. Hyundai i20 AT

Reports suggest that Hyundai will finally introduce an automatic variant of the Hyundai i20 during the festive season. It could be a 4-speed or 6-speed torque converter exclusive to the 1.2 petrol variant.

9. Jaguar F-Pace

Jaguar's first ever SUV - the Jaguar F-Pace - will launch in the Indian market in the coming few months. The British manufacturer has released the official specs of the India-spec F-Pace, suggesting that a launch is nearing. It will be imported via the CBU route.

10. Jaguar XE diesel variants

The Jaguar XE is only available with a 2.0L petrol engine, while diesel variants with a 2.0L (1,999 cc) four cylinder diesel engines sold in other markets could be launched in India this year.

11. 2016 Jaguar XF

Jaguar will also introduce the second generation Jaguar XF later this year. Unveiled at the Auto Expo 2016, the XF is a significant step-up over the outgoing model, with respect to luxury, space and refinement.

12. Jeep Grand Cherokee and SRT

Jeep will finally commence their sales operations in India later this year, and one of its products in the lineup will be the Grand Cherokee. It's available in three variants: Limited, Summit and the HEMI V8-powered SRT, and all three will be imported via the CBU route.

13. Jeep Wrangler

The Jeep Wrangler is the company's most iconic product in their lineup, which has a large fan following in the Indian market. For the Indian market, it will only be sold in the 5-door Unlimited variant.

14. Mahindra Bolero sub-4m

Reports suggest that Mahindra will launch a sub-4m version of the Mahindra Bolero before the end of this year. Mahindra believes that a sub-4m version of the Bolero with a smaller engine can make the UV more affordable to rural markets.

15. Maruti Baleno RS

The Baleno lineup will soon be joined by a hotter, range-topping Baleno RS during the festive season, which debuts Maruti Suzuki's new 1.0L Boosterjet (turbocharged) three cylinder engine.

16. Maruti Ignis

At its Auto Expo unveil, Maruti had confirmed that the Ignis was scheduled to launch in this festive season. However, reports suggest that the launch is pushed back to fulfill the backlog of orders for the Maruti Vitara Brezza and Maruti Baleno. With a production start reported to take place in November, the Ignis is expected to launch towards the fag end of the calendar year, or in early-2017.

17. 2016 Mercedes E Class

The latest Mercedes E Class (W213) could be launched in India later this year. As is the company's trend, Mercedes could introduce a limited edition, feature-packed, CBU version of the new E Class first, before locally-assembled examples start arriving at showrooms next year.

18. 2016 Mini Clubman

BMW India has confirmed that the second generation Mini Clubman will launch in India later this year. The new Clubman is the longest Mini ever built and comes in three variants – Cooper Clubman, Cooper S Clubman and the Cooper D Clubman.

19. Renault Kwid 1L and AMT

Renault will further expand the Kwid family by introducing a more powerful 1L version of the Renault Kwid later this year. The 1L variant will exclusively offer Renault's Easy-R AMT gearbox, and could be equipped with safety features like dual airbags and ABS.

20. Skoda Rapid facelift

The Skoda Rapid is undergoing a facelift for 2017, and would be launched before the end of this year. It will adopt a more angular front fascia, more equipment sourced from the new Vento and an updated 1.5 TDI diesel engine.

21. Tata Hexa

Tata's second attempt at a full-size crossover is expected to arrive in the coming weeks. The Hexa will be the most feature-packed Tata ever made, and will pack a VARICOR unit available with a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox.

22. Tata Kite 5

The Kite 5 is Tata's third sub-4m sedan to launch in the Indian market. If priced along the lines of its hatchback-sibling - the Tata Tiago - the Kite 5 could be the least expensive sedan when launched during the festive season.

23. Tata Tiago AMT

Along with the Kite 5, Tata will also introduce an AMT variant of the Tata Tiago this festive season. The AMT is likely to be exclusive to the 1.2 Revotron petrol variant.

24. Toyota Etios facelift

Toyota is prepping a facelift for the Toyota Etios sedan; five years after it was first introduced in India. The exterior will have contemporary cosmetic changes, while the interior will have slight equipment and trim upgrades.

25. Toyota Innova Crysta petrol

As a response to the crackdown on diesel-powered cars above 2000 cc, Toyota will introduce a petrol variant of the Innova Crysta this month. It will be powered by a 2.7L VVT-i four cylinder engine paired to a 6-speed AT or 5-speed MT.

26. VW Ameo TDI

The diesel variant of the VW Ameo is expected to arrive in the coming months. It will pack VW's updated 1.5 TDI engine that outputs 108 bhp. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual or 7-speed DSG.

27. VW Polo, Vento with updated 1.5L TDI

Along with the Ameo, the VW Polo and Vento will get an updated version of the 1.5 TDI engine. The new Vento introduces LED headlamps in the top-end grade, while both the Polo will feature ABS as standard.

28. VW Polo GTI

One of the most hotly anticipated hot hatches in India is the VW Polo GTI. Unveiled at the Auto Expo 2016, the Polo GTI is powered by the 1.8 TSI petrol engine that outputs 189 hp & 250 Nm of torque, which is sent to the front wheels via a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. It is capable of reaching 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds and hit a top speed of 236 km/h.

29. Volvo S90

Volvo's next big product launch in India is the Volvo S90 luxury sedan, which replaces the Volvo S80. It is built on the same platform as the Volvo XC90, and will source the 2.0L Drive-E powertrain options from its bigger sibling.
