Live Images - Audi Q3
Unveiling of this junior crossover from Audi took place just last week but the Q3 has already made headlines in India. Audi will assemble the Q3 at VW Group' Aurangabad facility next year and price it along the lines of the Honda CR-V and BMW X1.
The press shots portrayed a down-sized Audi Q5, but real-life images bring out more details including a better idea of its proportions. If you park a Audi Q3 next to a Tata Safari, the Tata will out-pose the Audi. Falling short by a good margin in length and height, the Q3 is like a big hatchback on stilts. It sits on the PQ35 platform which underpins cars like the previous generation Jetta, Golf and current generation Tiguan.
The Q3 will be produced at SEAT's Martorell factory (near Barcelona, Spain) to the tune of 80k units/year starting this July. The Q3 got the green light as across the globe there is an increased appetite for small crossovers.
We're hoping for Audi India to introduce the Q3 with the VW Group' 2.0-liter CRDI engine and put it on sale at a price of 25 lakh rupees for the basic FWD variant.
