IAB Report - Mahindra plans 10 new two-wheelers in the next 3 years

On the sidelines of today's launch of the Mahindra Centuro N1 in Pune, company officials said exports of the Centuro are to commence shortly. Mahindra currently exports its two-wheelers to 9 countries, and would expand to 14 countries by the end of the fiscal year.

In the next three years, Mahindra will introduce at least 10 new two-wheelers in India, presently in various stages of testing and validation.

Mahindra Mojo spied in Pune front three quarters
The Mojo will be launched shortly, and would be among the first of 10 new products planned for the next three years.

Mr. Anoop Mathur, president of Mahindra's two-wheeler sector, says a plan is in place for sportsbikes, which would start with the 300cc Mojo, and the company may lift the bar in the future. When asked about developing bikes above 1,000cc engine capacity, a segment that has seen a rush of new bikes and brands enter over the last year, he said if and when Mahindra decides to participate, it would be "a strategy on its own."

The Mahindra Mojo's 300cc engine has been tested nationally and internationally. The bike would be launched on the Indian market shortly, he confirmed.

Mathur did not elaborate on the plans for the forthcoming Auto Expo. He said one can expect to see new scooters and bikes at its stall.
