Spied - IAB reader snaps the Mahindra G101 scooter on test

The Mahindra G101 (codename) 110 cc automatic scooter has been spotted testing once again, this time by IAB reader Mr. Abishek Joshi near Pune.

The G101 would be launched in August (in a few weeks).

The first 110 cc scooter by Mahindra would be made at the company's Pithampur plant and is one of three new Mahindra two wheelers that are lined up to be launched this year. The scooter has been spied testing several times before.

The styling is a bit conservative and it can be observed that the scooter doesn't offer premium features like alloy wheels or a front disc brake. An earlier spotting revealed that the front apron of the scooter has stylish vents adjacent to the turn indicators. The rear gets a rectangular combination lamp with a body colored element in the middle. The size is comparable to that of the segment kingpin, the Honda Activa.

The Scooter will be powered by a 110 cc engine mated to a CVT.

The technical details are scarce as of now, but the G101 is expected to use the Centuro commuter's 110 cc air-cooled engine that is good for 8.5 PS (8.38 bhp) and 8.5 Nm of torque. It goes without saying that the motor will be coupled to a CVT.

The new Mahindra scooter would also get some first-in-class features that were in the Centuro such as a remote smart key, engine immobilizer, find me and guide me lamps, anti-theft alarm and engine immobilizer.
