Mahindra Gusto 125 vs Honda Activa 125 vs Suzuki Access - Comparo

The Mahindra Gusto 125 has been unveiled and is set to be launched soon to take on the segment dominated by the Honda Activa 125 and the Suzuki Access. Here is a technical specification comparison of the three 125 cc scooters.

The Mahindra Gusto 125 is the longest, tallest and widest scooter in comparison, with the longest wheelbase and highest ground clearance too. It measures 1,825 mm in length, 711 mm in width, 1,188 mm in height, 1,275 mm in wheelbase and 165 mm in ground clearance. The fuel tank capacity of six litres is also the largest, which is on par with the Suzuki Access'.

While the Activa 125 uses a 12-inch wheel only at the front and a conventional, 10-inch wheel at the rear, the Gusto 125 uses 12-inch steel wheels at both ends. The Suzuki Access comes with 10-inch wheels.

In terms of powertrain, all the three scooters use a similar engine and transmission combination. They are 125 cc single-cylinder air-cooled SOHC engines mated to Continuously Variable Transmission units. The Honda Activa 125 has the highest maximum power and peak torque output, of 8.6 hp at 6,500 rpm and 10.12 Nm at 5,500 rpm.

The price of the Mahindra Gusto 125 is yet to be revealed. Between the Activa and the Access, the former is pricier by close to INR 4,000 (on-road, New Delhi) for the standard variant and INR 12,000 for the fully loaded version.
