Both models expected to launch before the end of this year.
IAB reader Prakash Yadav has spied the Mahindra Jeeto van and the Mahindra Scorpio Pik-Up (Getaway) testing in Chennai. The two products are expected to launch in India before the end of this year.
As seen in spyshots previously, the compact five-seater Jeeto LCV has tarpaulin covers for the side doors and rear windscreen, fixed windows for the third-row fixed, round headlamps connected by a sleek plastic grille, and a black plastic bumper. It could also come equipped with Mahindra's new ‘Digisense’ connected vehicle platform for cloud-based vehicle tracking, engine diagnostics, route planning, breakdown assistance and Geo fencing features.
It will source the Jeeto’s single-cylinder water-cooled m_Dura 625 cc engine diesel paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox, which is capable of producing 16 hp and 38 Nm of torque.
As for the 2017 Mahindra Pik-Up, it will impersonate the SUV with the bolder fascia with new headlamps and grille, while the rear-end looks largely identical to the outgoing model. It could be based on the Scorpio’s hydroformed chassis, thus making it lighter, stronger and stiffer than the current Pik-Up.

Powering the new Pik-Up is a 2.2-litre turbodiesel 4-cyl motor from the Mahindra Scorpio paired to a 5-speed gearbox, which produces 120 bhp and 280 Nm of peak torque. A 4×4 drivetrain will be available as an option in the new Pik-Up, and so could an automatic transmission.
