A new sketch IAB has accessed provides the best look yet at the Mahindra Marazzo MPV, which is due to reach showrooms in September. As the image reveals, the Marazzo gets a clean design and doesn't resemble any existing product. The company says the design is inspired by the shark.

The Mahindra Marazzo will debut the 1.5-liter diesel engine which will later be seen on the S201 compact SUV.

The Marazzo doesn't look anything like the boxy Xylo, which Mahindra is clear will continue in the market but will slot below the Marazzo. The side profile of the Marazzo gets a L-shaped crease and a distinct kink for the rear window. We also observe the large windows of the MPV, to provide a roomy interior feel no doubt, and other elements that catch out attention include the projector headlights and LED taillights.

The Marazzo's design is a collaboration of Pininfarina and the Mahindra Design Center, Mumbai. The MPV was jointly engineered by Mahindra North American Technical Centre (MNATC) and Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) in Chennai, India.

Codenamed U321, the Marazzo will debut a new diesel engine from Mahindra, a 1.5-liter unit reported to develop 121 hp and 300 Nm of torque with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The same engine will find its way to the Mahindra S201 compact SUV (Maruti Vitara Brezza rival) later this financial year.

All variants of the Marazzo will offer dual airbags, ABS and EBD and the higher variants get leatherette seats, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
