Mahindra Marazzo exterior revealed further in latest spy images

A fresh batch of spy images of the Mahindra Marazzo 'M8' variant reveals many new details of its exterior. The new model will launch on September 3.

M&M says the Marazzo has class-leading damping, and the vehicle has the lowest NVH in its class.

The 'shark-inspired' grille characterises the front-end with chrome accents. The headlights feature LEDs and a projector setup each. The bumper sports a large lower air-dam, a prominent diffuser, and angular fog lights with LED DRLs.

At the rear, the Mahindra Marazzo features a large windscreen that is flanked by a thick chrome strip at its lower end. The C-shaped tail-lamps carry LED units. The LED lights are expected to be offered only on the higher variants. Even the stylish dual-tone multi-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels will be available only on the costlier trim levels.

The new MPV becomes the first-ever Mahindra model to be jointly designed by the company's Mumbai-based design centre and Pininfarina. The design of the Marazzo has been inspired by a shark. It is also the first product to be developed in cooperation between Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) in Chennai, India and Mahindra North American Technical Centre (MNATC) in Troy, USA, so M&M tapped all available resources for a vehicle which it hopes would finally help make inroads in the MPV segment.

While the concept and architecture were created in India, the two design houses in India and Italy worked on the vehicle. It was then handed to the North American centre to create the final product.

Powering the Mahindra Marazzo will be the company's new 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine. The oil burner outputs a maximum power of 121 hp along with a peak torque of 300 Nm. It will come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. This new-age diesel engine will also power the Ssangyong Tivoli-based S201 sub-4-metre compact SUV. Standard safety features across all trims will include dual front airbags, ABS, seatbelt reminder for the front seats, speed alert system and rear parking sensors.
