Another Mahindra Mojo 300 ABS test mule spied, launch likely soon

The Mahindra Mojo 300 ABS continues to make spy photograph appearances, as the company is yet to announce its launch details and prices. The most recent sighting comes from outside of a Mahindra two-wheeler dealership, which hints that the launch may not be too far away. However, do note that the motorcycle in the images is a test mule and not a dealership showpiece.

The source of the photographs, Instagram page iamabikerdotcom, has listed all the updates that the motorcycle will receive in its latest avatar. The list of updates will include:

  • Single exhaust
  • Dual-channel ABS
  • Fuel injection
  • Pirelli angel CT tyres
  • Conventional telescopic front suspension with a fork brace
  • 320 mm and 240 mm disc at front and back respectively with Bybre sourced callipers
  • Relatively higher position for the exhaust
  • Lighter weight
  • Bigger sprocket

Apart from the changes listed above, we also see a new theme that mimics the red/white colour combination. Thus, the black paint is seen with white highlights on the saddle. The inclusion of dual-channel ABS will help the motorcycle compete with rivals like the Royal Enfield 350 Classic and the 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400.

The styling will remain unchanged, and the motorcycle will continue to use twin-pod headlight with a fly-screen at the front, radiator shrouds, an engine cowl, single-piece step-up seat and split pillion grab rail. The cockpit will feature a semi-digital instrument console with an analogue tachometer and the addition of the ABS indicator.

The mechanical specifications remain unaltered, and unless Mahindra surprises us with a BS-VI compliant motor, we expect to see the same 294.72 cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder DOHC engine with fuel injection tech that delivers 26.8 PS of peak power and 30 Nm of max torque. The engine will be linked to a six-speed gearbox.

The relatively lighter weight will enhance the power-to-weight ratio of the motorcycle and improve the manoeuvrability. The city/touring friendly ergonomics will be retained, and the upcoming Mojo will continue to use a tall-set, single-piece handlebar.

Mahindra will try to place the new motorcycle between the prices of the non-ABS Mojo UT300 and XT300. For reference, the UT300 was sold at INR 1.50 lakh*, while the XT300 was available for INR 1.80 lakh*. We expect to see INR 1.60 lakh* price tag on the upcoming model.
